NAMI Becomes the First Company in the Middle East and North Africa to ObtainNadcap Accreditation in Additive Manufacturing

The National Innovation Industrial Company “NAMI” has achieved a significant industrial milestone as the first company in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to obtain Nadcap accreditation in Additive Manufacturing AM. This unprecedented achievement places NAMI among an elite group of fewer than twenty facilities worldwide to hold this accreditation, further strengthening its position as one of the most advanced and trusted additive manufacturing entities globally within the aerospace and defense sectors.

The General Authority for Military Industries GAMI continues its dedicated efforts to empower national companies to build advanced capabilities in additive manufacturing (3D printing technologies) as part of its commitment to strengthening the localization of military industries in the Kingdom. This comes through the localization agreement signed between GAMI and Lockheed Martin, which has contributed to enabling local manufacturing capabilities including supporting NAMI in obtaining the required international certifications and accreditations most notably Nadcap certification considered one of the key localization requirements agreed upon within the partnership. This achievement represents a strategic step toward realizing the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in empowering the military industries sector and positioning the Kingdom as a regional hub for advanced technologies. In this context, NAMI stands out as a key driver in adopting additive manufacturing technologies across the Kingdom playing a pivotal role in supporting strategic sectors particularly aerospace defense and energy by providing high precision components manufactured locally in accordance with the highest international standards. This contributes to supply chain resilience increases local content and strengthens national industrial capabilities.

This integration between the Authority and NAMI represents a strategic move aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 which aims to solidify the Kingdom’s position as a leading regional center for advanced industries and to develop high value manufacturing capabilities that ensure the sustainability and growth of the national economy.

Dr. Ahmed Al Zawawi, Assistant Deputy Minister for Industrial Competitiveness and Advanced Manufacturing at the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, stated:

This milestone contributes to strengthening supply chain localization enhancing the competitiveness of the national industrial sector and supporting the objectives of the National Industrial Strategy in building an advanced and sustainable industrial ecosystem.”

Nadcap is the world’s leading global standard for quality assurance in critical manufacturing processes and is administered by the Performance Review Institute (PRI) established in 1990. PRI brings together experts from nearly 60 leading global prime contractors including Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Airbus, Leonardo, Raytheon, and Thales to establish unified audit standards applied across the aerospace, defense and space industries worldwide. Achieving accreditation requires passing rigorous and highly technical audits conducted by industry specialists to verify suppliers’ ongoing compliance with the highest global standards making Nadcap the benchmark for manufacturing quality operational safety and compliance.

Commenting on the achievement NAMI Chief Executive Officer Eng. Mohammed Swaidan stated that obtaining global Nadcap accreditation in Additive Manufacturing as the first company in the Middle East and North Africa and among only a limited number of companies worldwide marks a defining milestone that reflects the company’s commitment to building world class manufacturing capabilities. He explained that this achievement directly contributes to increasing local content in the production of vital aerospace and defense components in line with the highest international standards while also localizing advanced technologies through leading national  talents. He added that this accreditation will provide local access to internationally recognized manufacturing approvals enhancing regional supply chain resilience in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 which focuses on accelerating industrial development advancing engineering expertise and building a globally competitive manufacturing ecosystem.
