Towards a Local Industrial Future: How NAMI is Advancing Digital Manufacturing in Saudi Arabia
Driving Local Manufacturing Growth
NAMI’s digital manufacturing platform is designed to maximise the local adoption of 3D printing. By providing access to industrial-grade technologies and expert application engineers, NAMI empowers Saudi manufacturers to innovate, reduce reliance on imports, and improve supply chain resilience. This shift aligns perfectly with the Kingdom’s broader goal of developing a self-sufficient, technologically advanced industrial sector.
Key 3D Printing Technologies Used By NAMI
- SLA (Stereolithography): Utilises a laser to harden liquid resin into solid layers. It uses an ultraviolet laser to precisely cure photopolymer cross-sections, transforming them from liquid to solid.
- DLP (Digital Light Printing): Utilizes an LED projector to harden liquid resin into solid layers. It polymerises full cross-sections at a time, transforming them from liquid to solid.
- EXT (Extrusion): Uses thermoplastic pellets extruded through a heated nozzle to build objects layer upon layer.
- SLS (Selective Laser Sintering): Uses a laser to fuse powdered polymers, into solid objects. This powder-based 3D printing technology relies on a laser to trace the pattern of each cross-section onto a bed of powder.
- DMP (Direct Metal Printing): Employs high-powered lasers to fuse metal powders into strong, detailed structures. High-precision lasers are directed to metal powder particles to selectively build up thin horizontal metal layers one after the other.
A Vision for the Future
With Saudi Arabia’s commitment to technological advancement and economic diversification, NAMI is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of manufacturing. By leveraging its industry-leading expertise, expansive technology portfolio, and unmatched production capabilities, NAMI is not just transforming manufacturing processes, it is building the foundation for a more sustainable, efficient, and competitive industrial sector in the Kingdom.
As the demand for advanced manufacturing solutions grows, NAMI stands ready to lead Saudi Arabia into a new era of digital production, proving that the future of manufacturing is not just global, it’s local.
